The Band

The Band is an auditioned group of players who rehearse together and provide music on a rotating basis for all Sunday services. Music is an important part of the Sunday worship experience, and the band is responsible for helping bring this high energy experience to life.

The Band is mostly made up of guitars, keyboards, bass, and drums, but is open to experienced musicians of all styles and instruments, including rock, classical and jazz instrumentalists.

If you would like to audition, please complete the Worship Band Form. Someone from Graystone Church will contact you to arrange your audition time and answer any questions that you may have. You may also contact Kyle Hale by emailing him at kyle@graystonechurch.com.

Band FAQ

Who gets involved with the Band at Graystone Church?
The people who are involved with the Band have auditioned. They feel gifted and want to use their talents to serve our church, and they have a servant's heart, ready and willing to serve where needed. Band members serve primarily at the weekend services, but also may perform at other special events.

Do I have to be a member of Graystone Church to join?
You do not have to be a member in order to join. However, by joining, it is our hope that you will decide to make the commitment to go through Membership Class and officially join the Graystone family.

Will I be asked to play every week?
No. We try to be very conscious of your schedule.

Do I play at all services?
Yes. All services are exactly the same, so whoever plays on a Sunday, plays all day.

When are rehearsals and how long do they last?
Rehearsals are on Thursday nights and last about 1-2 hours. There is also a Sunday morning rehearsal starting at 7:00am. We usually put together 4-6 songs each week, so it takes some time to get everything just right. You should know the music completely when you arrive for rehearsals.
