Dominican Republic

So why Dominican Republic?

”...and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” — Acts 1:8

Have you ever wondered, “What are the ends of the earth?”

Graystone Church is partnering with Orphanage Outreach and planning a trip to Dominican Republic June 18-25, 2011. You can find out more about Orphanage Outreach on their website.

We’ll be going to the city of Monte Cristi – a sleepy community of about 20,000 residents located in the northwest corner of the country. In Monte Cristi, we’ll work with the Dominican people to make a difference in their community and therefore change their country and make a difference in the Kingdom.

What we will be doing in the Dominican Republic?
The main focus of this mission trip will be working with the children in Monte Cristi through various activities: sports camps, baseball clinics, etc.  We will be staying and working at The Hope of the Child Orphanage so we'll be spending a lot of time with  the orphanage children, but we will also be working with many other children from different neighborhoods in and around Monte Cristi.  In addition to working with these children, we will also have opportunities to serve in other ways like construction, teaching, and evangelism.  There is an opportunity to serve in various ways on this trip!  The main thing is that we just want to love the Dominican people and share the love of Jesus with them through our words and actions.
